New South Wales Softball BOP Junior International Challenge TournamENT

Under 14 Boys & Girls

Depart New Zealand on Tuesday, 24h March, and return on Monday 30th March 2026

International Softball Academy

Since 2015, ISA New Zealand has been sending teams to compete in the New South Wales Softball Association International Challenge at the Blacktown International Sports Stadium. Representative teams from New South Wales, on occasion Victoria, and teams from Japan have been sent for over sixteen years.

Venue: The venue was built for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and is now known as the Blacktown International Sportspark, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill, Western Sydney.

Note all meals are provided. Transport will be by two 22-seater Buses

Location: Warm-up games and training in and around Western Sydney with aTournament at Blacktown

Head Coach: Boys - Mike Mountford (Mike and before him his father Bryan Mountfort ) assisted Hadyn Smith for 14 years & former Samoan World Series players, Wellington Coach and Wellington Softball Community Manager

2026 U14 Girls Program - this age bracket is in line for the 2027 U15 SNZ World Series Team. The current Softball New Zealand U15 coach. Michelle Kingi will attend as Battery Coach. Giving her a first-hand opportunity to see the players’ performance on and off the diamond in an International Environment.

Girls Coaches- Richard Allison - over 10 years of coaching various ISA teams all around the world,

Cost: $3750pp - this includes approximately $800 of gear, and fundraising opportunities “back of the training shirts” sponsors, Playing shirt sponsors and the NRL Raffle ticket, potentially $4.7K in sponsorship.

In memoriam, Hadyn Smith, former Softball New Zealand CEO and former SNZ Board Member, who coached the Boys term for 16 years, regrettably passed away of a heart attack not long after the 2024 Tour - we acknowledge the massive contribution Hadyn achieved with the softballers for their development over the 16 years.

Flying Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington on a real Early am flight arriving in Sydney at approximately 8.30 am check through customs

9.30 am Meet up with the others at the Bus bay, and depart for the Accommodation

10.30 am Arrive at the Accommodation

11.30 am Depart for Training Run - Stanhope, Majestic Drive

2.00 pm Back to Accommodation

2.15 pm Individual one-on-one sessions with Coaches

2.45 pm Late Lunch/ Early lite Dinner (we will have a BBQ also at the Park between games)

4.00 pm Travel Back to the Training Ground

Games v Cumberland Nepean Softball for games

6.30 pm Game 1  (1 hour game)

7.30 pm Sausage Sizzle

New South Wales U14 Provincial State Championship

New South Wales Softball Association are running this development event in conjunction with a local association. In 2026 it will be held at Wagga Wagga Softball Association, in Wagga Wagga, approximately 4 hours drive from Sydney. ITINERARY. We will spend Tuesday/Wednesday and Thursday in Sydney and drive to Wagga Wagga Friday

ITINERARY – Note all meals are provided. Transport will be by three 22-seater BUSes

Two Even Boys Teams and One Girls Team will be selected

Day 1- Early Tuesday 15th September

Early morning flight ex Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch to Sydney (NOTE all pricing will be based on flights ex Auckland/Wellington & Christchurch )

Morning & afternoon skills camp - lunch at park Evening game. Training is 10 minutes from the accommodation. – Stanhope, Cumberland Softball Association

Day 2 – Wednesday Training run, am/ pm Back for evening games

Day 3 - Thursday Training Run/ swim, Lunch at Accommodation and evening games

Day 4 - Friday 9.00am Check out and board buses to Wagga Wagga - approx 4 hour drive. 1pm arrive at Ingenia Wagga Wagga Holiday Park, late lunch, followed by R &R and travel to the park for training one game each, with BBQ at the Park.

Day 5 – Saturday TOURNAMENT

U15 YEAR Boys & GIRLS - OCTOBER 2025 -

New South Wales Softball Association are hosting the third year of the Tasman Cup in 2026. The tournament is at Softball Headquarters at the Blacktown International Sportspark, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill, Western Sydney. Departing New Zealand Sunday 27th September. The tour is for 9 days and includes the Australian National League Final (NRL) - go the Warriors

TASMAN CUP TOURNAMENT

Date: Sunday 27th September to Monday 5th October (9days)

Tournament: Wednesday, 30th Sept – Friday, October 2nd

Location: Warm-up games and training in and around Western Sydney with Tournament at Blacktown

Various entertainment will be offered. The outlined itinerary is subject to change based on the softball program and timings. We have previously included visits to markets, downtown Sydney, Luna Park, Sydney Opera House, League Games, Sydney Harbour Bridge and tunnel, Movies, Outlet shops, Blacktown shopping complex, and specialised softball shops. Any entertainment costs are covered by the tour fee.

Accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the costs, excluding meals on the flights and lunch on the last day.

Runners up in 2010 - Coaches Kevin Gettins, went on to be Head Coach of the NZ White Sox Womens team, and Chubb Tangaroa - Black Sox Battery Coach. Five players went on to be selected for Black Sox training camps members and one to the Great Britain Men’s team.

·        Sponsors on training shirts of either $1 to $80 or $40 a sponsor x 80   $3200 or less if you less

·        ISA Raffle - NRL Finals 2 tickets, airfares, accommodation transport from the Airport and return, and transport to the Game. Depart early Saturday and return Monday. 40 tickets at $40 each (net after cost $1400) 

·        Five key sponsors at $500 each – your club, parent work etc – supply them each with a training shirt with their name on the back  - and your name on a sleeve  (net after cost of training tops $2250)

NOTE: below is the planned itinerary based on the last tour through Canada. The schedule will change

(NOTE all pricing is based on flight ex Auckland -  the cost of players' transport to Auckland is with you - the cost does not include Canadian or USA entry visas or medical insurance)

Transports in Canada will be in the style of a 30/40-seater coach or bigger. NOTE: we require at least 14 players for this Tour

NOTE: Accommodation will be a combination of motels and local billeting. We will be fed at all exhibition games, lunch will be organised during the bus trip, and breakfast will be provided at the accommodation. Organise the uniform washing with your host family. Where we stay at motels/hotels, breakfast will be part of the booking, but in some cases bedding will be shared Queen beds. In most cases, two queen beds per room. Only players will share beds.

The cost is based on flying ex Auckland, excluding travel insurance and Canadian entry visas. We will direct you on how to apply for entry into Canada for ESTAs - the entry cost is minimal. We will not be flying through the USA.
