The International Softball Academy, formed in 2007, hosts international softball tours and academy programs that expose players to elite softball and elite coaching

Our mission is to facilitate a friendly exchange and understanding among softball players from different countries and regions while exposing players, especially youth players, to elite softball at an international level

Since 2007 we have selected and hosted over 70 New Zealand teams

 We continue to have our hosts invent events and Tournaments for us to play in: Saskatoon Softball Association established with sponsorship from the Super 8 Motel chain the Super 8 Series for a series of games against U19 teams in and around Saskatoon and Prince Albert in Canada, the Manitoba Softball Association established the Kiwi Cup Tournament, which has now being held in Brandon, Winnipeg and Cross Lakes Band hosted by the local Indian Trust. Fleming Softball Club established the George Engle Invitation Tournament for our first visit for our U21 team in 2012. and this now switched to a challenge game ISA New Zealand v Fleming Jet.

New South Wales Softball set up, in 2014, the Blue Blaze Tournaments at Blacktown Olympic Stadium International Sports to catered for our Under 15 Boys and Girls program in September/October, with the boys program including the NRL Rugby League Finals.

The Saskatoon Softball Association, in 2018 set up the U13 Girls and Boys International Challenge and arranged sponsorship to support our attendance at the event.

In 2010 we were lucky enough to be invited to the U14 Boys International Youth Series at the Sydney Olympic Stadium in Blacktown, including teams from Japan. We have won the boys event 4 times, and in 2019 we added an U14 Girls team from New Zealand. The Japanese Softball Federations, who organise the Japanese teams at  this Tournament invited the U13 ISA New Zealand teams to Biwako in Japan from 2020. We were unable to do this trip due to Covid.

We were lucky enough to get invited in 2016 to the International U19 Boys Tournament in Prague, Czech Republic. Over years the teams has played in build up games against the German National Men’s team, the Denmark Open Men’s and U19 teams, the Israel National U19 team, the Czech U18 Team and the Slovakia National Men’s team. Amazing experiences.

For fours years we attended the New South Wales U18 Academy Tournament in Newcastle, Australia, the tournament included teams from the United States. Great privilege to be invited to this event.

In 2018 & 2019 we sent an Open Women’s team to the European Softball Federation - Women’s European Cup. ISA New Zealand was the first team outside Europe to ever attend. And we won it in 2018 and it saw us promoted to the European Winner’s Cup.

2020 , 2021 & 2022 were not kind to sports teams travelling overseas. In 2020 we cancelled 11 tours and in 2021 - It was not to be.

2023 we were back, giving up and coming softballers the opportunity of international softball and told four teams to Sydney

2024 we have scheduled, U13 Boys & Girls, Under 14 Boys, Under 15 Boys (2) and Girls, U16/17 Boys, U19 Girls and Development Men’s Team - 9 teams
